Description: -This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) issued by the National Institute on Drug Abuse invites applications for grant funding to support behavioral and integrative treatment research that will have a meaningful impact on improving treatment for drug and alcohol abuse and dependence. -This FOA will use the NIH Small Research Grant (R03) award mechanism and runs in parallel with an FOA of identical scientific scope, PA-06-486, that solicits applications under the traditional research project grant (R01), and PA-06-487, that solicits applications under the exploratory/developmental (R21) mechanism. -The R03 grant mechanism supports different types of projects including pilot and feasibility studies; secondary analysis of existing data; small, self-contained research projects; development of research methodology; and development of new research technology.
