The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) offers the Marine Fisheries Initiative (MARFIN) grant to support projects that enhance research and development of U.S. marine fishery resources. Projects aim to address priority activities outlined in the NMFS Strategic Plan, such as rebuilding over-fished marine fisheries and conserving protected species. Funding priorities are determined in collaboration with experts and NMFS officials, with no bias towards project duration.
