The National Park Service is offering a grant in collaboration with the University of Alaska Fairbanks to study the impact of heavy metal-enriched dust deposition on non-vascular plant communities along the Red Dog haul road. The project will involve ecological expertise from NPS and spatial modeling and statistical analysis from UAF to evaluate and document the effects rigorously. Both parties will contribute significantly to developing models and reports through close communication, review, and editing. Application deadline is on Oct 06, 2011.
