The Defense Health Program is offering the Medical Practice Initiative Procedural Skill Decay and Maintenance Grant (MPI-PSD) to conduct research on the degradation of outpatient or inpatient procedural skills in relation to the frequency of performing a procedure. Managed by the U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity, this grant focuses on developing medical training systems and competency assessment tools for military medical readiness. The research aims to extract relevant metrics from existing data to identify skills degradation and improve outpatient care quality, benefitting both public and private sector organizations.
