| Description:: | The U.S. Consulate General, Chennai will fund a documentary or documentary series titled Young Indians Changing the World: A Celluloid Journey highlighting the achievements of Indians, particularly from South India, ages 25-40, who have returned to India from extended U.S. stays and made a difference in society and elevated Indias role and position regionally or globally.. These Indian achievers could include (but are not restricted to) professionals, research scholars, academics, scientists, civil society leaders, artists, business leaders, politicians, journalists and others who: Studied and/or conducted research in the United States. Worked in the United States. Participated in short term / long-term USG exchange programs such as (and not restricted to) the International Visitor Leadership Program, Fulbright Fellowship, Hubert Humphrey and others) in the United States. Are aged 25-40 at the time of production.These individuals must have returned to India, become achievers in their respective fields, and used their expertise to improve and uplift the lives of people, especially the underserved and underprivileged, around them. The documentary series will showcase not only how the United States has deeply affected the lives of these achievers, but also how their current work makes India a global leader and role model for other nations. The documentary will highlight Indo-U.S. relations, especially people-to-people to connections that have been made over several decades, which continue to strengthen and enrich citizens both nations.The documentary/series will be produced in three vernacular languages Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, all with English subtitles. Ideally, these documentaries will be broadcast on TV channel(s) (English, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil television channels. The documentary/series should also be available for screenings at suitable film festivals, youth festivals, educational institutions, and other relevant gatherings. Additionally, the documentary should be available on social media platforms, including YouTube, for viewing by a larger global, especially youth, audience.. The awardee will: * Work closely with the U.S. Consulate General, Chennais Public Affairs Section to identify suitable individuals at least two each from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala who will be featured in the documentary/series; * Write the documentary/series concept note, film and produce the documentary/series from start to finish, including completing ready to screen post-production work and translation/subtitling. The end product could be a single documentary, a series of short films/episodes, or three separate documentaries featuring achievers from Tamil Nadu, Kerala and * Identify and negotiate with television stations in each state to broadcast the documentary/series; * Identify suitable TV channels, film festivals, academic institutions, organizations, social media platforms, and other audiences to showcase the documentary/series.
