The National Institute on Aging is offering a grant to institutions/organizations to study the molecular mechanisms controlling circadian clocks in aging tissues, focusing on peripheral and extra suprachiasmatic nucleus clocks. Research will explore the impact of clock system alterations on chromatin remodeling, gene expression, translation, signaling, and cell function. Priority will be given to investigating the pathophysiology of circadian clock regulation changes in aged tissues in response to metabolic/nutritional, environmental, and pharmacological factors.
