The Department of State’s Bureau for Counterterrorism is offering the Countering Violent Extremism Bangladesh Program to fund activities aimed at providing positive alternatives to radicalization in Bangladesh. The program focuses on countering violent extremist narratives, increasing capacities of partner-nations, and targeting university students to combat extremist ideologies. A cooperative agreement of approximately $1.2 million will be awarded for developing visual media programs on countering radicalization among university students. The grant aims to enhance local activities using filmmaking as a medium, with a strong emphasis on a dissemination strategy. Deadline for applications is August 24, 2012.
