The USDA AFRI NIFA Fellowship Grant Program aims to cultivate the next generation of food and agricultural science leaders by addressing current and future challenges. This grant provides support for talented doctoral candidates and post-doctoral trainees who show great promise in becoming successful professionals in education, extension, and research within the United States. Fellows receive mentorship and training to enhance their technical and academic skills while fostering research independence and teaching abilities. Projects funded under this program focus on research, education, and extension efforts in the food, forestry, and agricultural sciences as part of NIFA’s AFRI Challenge Areas.
