Healthy, improved ecosystems will provide diversified sustainable livelihoods to communities and better shelter Bangladeshs vulnerable population from tropical cyclones and other negative impacts of climate change. Intact forests and wetlands will also sequester CO2 and other greenhouse gases to mitigate the effects of climate change.Bagh will be similarly aligned with Government of Bangladesh (GOB) strategies and action plans. Specifically, Bagh is very closely aligned with the Bangladesh Tiger Action Plan (2009). The development hypothesis is that improved wildlife conservation is an effective means to conserve the biodiverse habitats that millions especially women and the poor rural population depend on for their livelihoods. |
