This Bureau of Land Management grant aims to study the genetic diversity and stability of Xantusia vigilis (Desert Night Lizard) populations in the Panoche Hills, California. The research will provide insights into the evolutionary history of the genus Xantusia in North America, as well as inform management strategies for conservation efforts in the area.
