This project aims to investigate the impact of vegetation changes on exotic species invasion in the BLM California Desert District. With a focus on the San Bernardino and San Jacinto Mountains regions, the study will analyze the dieback of woody species and its implications for invasive species establishment in the face of climate change and drought. By assessing water transport reduction and drought resistance using ‘vulnerability curves,’ the project will provide valuable insights for land management and conservation efforts.
