The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Great Lakes Science Center (GLSC) offers a research grant through CESU for studying zooplankton, lower trophic foodweb analyses, and fish diet analyses in the Great Lakes. Focusing on the Huron-Erie corridor and western Lake Erie foodwebs, the grant aims to understand the role of this area in fisheries production and water quality. Recent habitat restoration efforts have sparked interest in assessing the HEC’s contribution to ecosystem services. Monitoring fish spawning and larvae production will provide valuable data for managing this unique corridor and guiding restoration efforts.
