This grant opportunity aims to support the establishment and operation of a National Communications System (Hotline) for youth at risk of running away or who have already run away, and their families. The National Communication System was created in 1974 to address the challenges faced by runaway and homeless youth, providing a 24/7 confidential communication channel, crisis intervention, access to resources, transportation services, and family support. In 2010 alone, the NCS hotline received over 93,000 calls and provided referrals and assistance to numerous youth and families in need. Applications must be submitted by Jul 13, 2012.
