| Description: | The HSGP is a primary funding mechanism for building and sustaining national preparedness capabilities. The HSGP is comprised of four interconnected grant programs: State Homeland Security Program (SHSP), Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI), Metropolitan Medical Response System (MMRS), and Citizen Corps Program (CCP). Together, these grants fund a range of preparedness activities, including planning, organization, equipment purchase, training, exercises, and management and administration. Per the Implementing Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007 (Public Law 110-53) and the Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance, and Continuing Appropriations Act of 2009 (Public Law 110-329), States are also required to ensure that at least 25 percent of their SHSP award funds and 25 percent of their UASI award funds are dedicated towards law enforcement terrorism prevention activities.* Please note that these required forms may fall under either the mandatory or optional document headings in the application package. Please reference the grant guidance document for instructions and specific information regarding attachments.
