This grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency aims to partner with a non-profit technical earthquake society to translate research and technology into tools for earthquake loss reduction. The society will conduct forums, disseminate information on building codes, and offer workshops to increase awareness of earthquake reduction science and technology. The grant seeks to improve the understanding and implementation of earthquake preparedness measures among architects, engineers, planners, public officials, social scientists, and other professionals.
