FEMA offers the NEHRP Earthquake State Assistance Program to support earthquake risk reduction in the United States. This grant is designed to provide direct assistance to states for implementing eligible earthquake safety and mitigation activities at the local level. Authorized by the Earthquake Hazards Reduction Act and required by the National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program Reauthorization Act, this program aims to reduce risks to life and property from future earthquakes. Applications must be submitted by the closing date of Sep 07, 2012.
