1. Joint Commitment to Lamprey Restoration The FWS is working closely with the Columbia River Treaty Tribes, as well as tribes from coastal Oregon and Washington and California, in the development and implementation of the Pacific Lamprey Conservation Initiative. Lamprey Summit III will build upon the progress made at the first two Summits where the importance of Pacific Lamprey to the tribes was emphasized and a call for implementation actions was announced. By facilitating the Lamprey Summit III the Service will continue to meet work jointly with the tribes to conserve Pacific Lamprey and address their primary concern that restoration actions are implemented swiftly. |
