The National Cancer Institute and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism are offering a grant to support research on the etiology, prevention, and treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The grant aims to fund projects that address HCC’s etiology, develop animal models, propose novel prevention strategies, create diagnostic tools, and develop therapeutic approaches to reduce morbidity and mortality in humans. The focus should be on basic biology, prevention, and treatment of liver cancer, excluding population studies and epidemiology. This grant utilizes the R21 mechanism and is part of a larger scientific scope including research projects and program project grants.
