This department is offering the National Digital Newspaper Program grant to institutions to create a digital archive of newspapers published between 1836 and 1922. The searchable database will be housed at the Library of Congress and freely accessible online. NEH will fund projects in all states and U.S. territories, with priority given to new projects and areas that have not previously received funding. Additionally, previously funded projects can receive supplements for further work. Applications for this grant must be submitted by January 17, 2013.
