NCI is offering the Research Specialist Award (R50) to support laboratory-based scientists in the field of cancer research. This grant aims to provide stable career opportunities for exceptional researchers to continue their work within existing NCI-funded cancer research programs without the requirement of becoming independent investigators. The focus is on sustaining the biomedical research workforce by supporting non-tenure track scientists. Applications from scientists committed to working within NCI-funded cancer research programs as part of a team, rather than as independent investigators, are encouraged.
