The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) is offering a grant for research projects focusing on the causes and consequences of Cystic Fibrosis Related Diabetes (CFRD). CFRD is a common complication of Cystic Fibrosis (CF) impacting nearly half of CF patients with increasing age, leading to higher morbidity and mortality rates. This grant seeks to support studies investigating the etiology of CFRD in both humans and animal models, as well as exploring the mechanisms behind the elevated morbidity observed in CFRD patients. Applications should aim to shed light on why some CF patients develop CFRD and the associated decline in lung health.
