The National Park Service (NPS) is offering a grant to assist in planning and producing the ‘Working Waterfront Festival’ at the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park. This grant includes providing logistical and staff support for performances, documenting festival activities for interpretive exhibits, and researching cultural programs related to New Bedford’s fishing industry and maritime history. Emphasis will be on interpreting diverse cultures such as Azorean and Madeiran Portuguese, Cape Verdean, African American, West Indian, French Canadian, and Norwegian. Applications are accepted until July 10, 2013.
