The Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, on behalf of the Wind and Water Power Technologies Office, is preparing to release a Funding Opportunity Announcement focusing on U.S. Wind Manufacturing. The grant seeks to address transportation and logistics challenges associated with taller wind turbines, aiming to lower energy costs. Projects should propose innovative tower manufacturing and installation solutions for hub heights exceeding 120 meters. While applications are not being accepted at this time, interested parties are encouraged to collaborate, devise project ideas, and collect data in preparation for the upcoming FOA release in early 2014.
