The Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement (PM/WRA) within the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Political-Military Affairs is offering a grant for the clearance and safe disposal of landmines, unexploded ordnance, and excess weapons in the Middle East region. U.S.-based and foreign organizations, NGOs, PIOs, and higher education institutions can apply for up to $1,000,000 in funding. Proposals must be submitted by July 27, 2012, via grantsolutions.gov or grants.gov. This grant aims to support projects addressing the removal of hazardous munitions in the Middle East, pending fiscal year 2012 appropriations.
