Proposals addressing protection and assistance for camp-based refugees should focus on protection (including prevention of and response to gender-based violence – GBV – and assistance to unaccompanied minors), health and nutrition (including support and accessibility for pregnant women, disabled and elderly persons), water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), shelter and infrastructure (including telecommunications capacity), community services, psychosocial support (including support to child soldiers), education, or livelihoods development (including primary and vocational education) in a camp environment. [Please note there will be no separate call for GBV programs for FY 2012.] For Ethiopia, only proposals for assistance to new camps opened or expanded specifically to accommodate Somali or Sudanese refugee inflows in 2011-2012 will be considered under this call for proposals (a later call for proposals will be issued in Spring 2012 to consider support to older camps and Eritrean refugee populations).
