The US Geological Survey is offering a grant through the Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit, Great Rivers CESU for conducting research on developing methods for the laboratory culture of diverse species of freshwater mussels. The goal is to refine methods for laboratory culture unique species of juvenile freshwater mussels for use in toxicity testing. The research projects will focus on using these unique species of mussels to conduct water or sediment toxicity tests and establish methods for inter-laboratory testing.
