Additional Information
| Agency Name:: | OASAM |
| Description:: | USDOL/ILAB announces its intent to award up to $10 million for one or more cooperative agreements to qualifying organizations to reduce child labor in Tanzania through an area-based approach in geographic areas where there is a prevalence of child labor in agriculture production and domestic service. The project(s) funded based on this Solicitation for Cooperative Agreement Applications (SGA) will work with local entities and build on past and existing efforts that directly or indirectly contribute to a reduction in the worst forms of child labor, including programs to protect orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), increase access to education and promote economic opportunities for Tanzanian households most vulnerable to the worst forms of child labor. Projects funded under this SGA will seek to combat child labor by (1) increasing childrens access to quality education, (2) promoting sustainable livelihoods for their households and (3) increasing access to national social protection programs that help households overcome dependence on children working to meet basic needs. Organizations applying for this award must demonstrate a proven ability to manage complex projects in developing countries through actions that support these aims.USDOLs Office of Child Labor, Forced Labor and Human Trafficking (OCFT) conducts and funds research, develops strategic partnerships, and funds an international technical cooperation program to eliminate worst forms of child labor, forced labor, and human trafficking internationally. |
